Help with detachable towbar

I've just had a bosal detachable towbar fitted to my car

When I first tried to fit the towball section it clicks into place but the key will not turn to lock it into place as stated in the manual.

Is it user error or as I suspect a fault with the towbar itself??

Nick,

If it's the normal Bosal fitting, it will have a knob to preloaded the lock:

1. Insert the key

2. Lay the tow-arm on it's side, with the knob uppermost

3. Push down on the knob, turning clockwise until it locks in the preload position

4. Insert the tow-arm into the cassette under the car and the knob should spring back - locking it in place

5. Remove the key
