Could somebody please help me.I own a Kia Sportage 06 2 litre crdi 6gear manual 2wd model.Towcar tell me that the kerbweight is 1640kgs.Going by the manual it is 1760mgs which do u think is right

Probably both are right.

There are two definitions of kerb-weight, basically differing by an allowance for the driver (and some fuel and fluid differences).

And both are also wrong - specification differences and manufacturing tolerances will mean that the weight will be different - and almost certainly heavier than you expect.

The heavier weight of around 1760kg is probably the "new" EU definition and should be close to the weight you'll also find on the vehicle V5. Have you looked there, because that's the right place to find this information.
