Hi,

Looking for some feedback from anyone who has stayed at the above Caravan Club Sites.

Recently planned a 2 week holiday to take in North Yorksire, The Peak District and Cumbria. Have been to North Yorks & The Lakes on several occassions but never stopping at these particular sites.

Plan is to stop at Knaresborough for 3 nights on the way South and then onto Chatsworth Park for 8 nights before stopping at Low Park Wood for 3 nights on the way back North.

Chose Knaresborough and Low Park due to their proximity to the motorway and many attractions of both areas.

All 3 look to be up to the usual CC standards but all postings, with the exception of Low Park Wood, I have read are fairly old.

Any comments gratefully received.

We stay at Knaresborough CC a couple of times a year (mainly to visit relatives who live nearby) and it is a lovely site.

It is quite small and is very popular so book early. Most pitches are a good size and are hard standing and the site is well laid out and generally quiet.

The site went through a major revamp with new toilet blocks around 2004 and it is always spotlesly clean. They also have a small restaurant on site, we hav'nt used it but reports are good.

There are wonderful walks nearby and a bus route from near the site goes into knaresborough.

Chatsworth is a lovely site, very quite and with access to the Chatsworth Estate through a "secret door" which is great if you like walking and/or have a dog.

there are not much amenities so you will need to use you car when you are there, and the road to the site is narrow with a small hump-backed bridge once you get to the entrance of the site.

the Chatsworth Farm Shop is worth a visit, if a little expensive and nearby I would definately visit Castleton.

We love Chatsworth it is our favourite. The site road is fine, we take a twin axle van. Just don't arrive untill after 1pm. The site is fab. Chatsworth farm shop is great but so is Armstrongs the butchers in Bakewell. We tend to get stocked up well in Bakewell, we use the local bakers etc. so we don't use the car much, depends if you like walking. There are some pubs in walking distance through the estate at Baslow. Don't hang around though they get booked up pretty quick.

I can recommend The CC sites Strid and Grassington in Yorkshire. Neither of these have much for kids, so there tends not to be so many in the holidays.

The site CC site at Bowness is great, right near the Lake. You can walk into town, get the ferry across to Sawrey, we hardly use the car.
