Hi,

We stayed several times at the Chateau de Chanteloup, only for a few days usually on the way to somewhere else. But it's a good site - very friendly owners, good swimming pool, no static caravans or tents, purely a touring site - with the caravans arranged around the edge of big circular fields

High lights - possibly the best artisan baker in the Sarthe delivers (or did) bread, croissant and pain au chocolat each morning - seriously these are very, very good

Le Mans itself has an interesting cathedral, market square, old town and weekly market and the surrounding area is good to explore. I particularly liked the shop that specialised in all things relating to Herge's TinTin

Le chateau de Chanteloup also hosts several of the independent race teams for the 24 hour race - as a base station away from the race track - unbelievably busy for that weekend.

Hi we stayed at La Parree Preneau a few years ago. Two swimming pools 1 indoor, other out door.We were there beginning of July campsite very guiet so for most of the time had exclusive use of the pools.Downside was limited bar opening and beware if you have a biggish van some of the pitchs have trees at odd places not so easy to place van in. Had brand new shower bloke very good.Plenty to do in the area and we enjoyed our stay there. Hope this helps

We have been to Chateau de Chanteloup several times - very pleasant site. However, on the last occasion we were disappointed to find the restaurant closed before the end of August.

We have been to Chanteloup many times, including last year. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, as is Dominic (the owner), and English is spoken. He also owns a large sports club in Le Mans and you have free access to tennis, badminton and squash including equipment. It can be booked from the site, they will give directions. If you are there during the high season there are many activities arranged for both children and adults. Hope you enjoy this site as much as we do.
