longleat caravan club site

jo-anne

Longleat is a lovely site, loos up to normal caravan club standards. Pitches some hardstand some grass. Just a short walk from Longleat house, best to take the bus around the safari park.

Hi

we spent 3 days at Longleat CC this summer, if you have kids they will love it as ours met a lot on new mates - there is a "village green" where they can play.

our grass pitch wasn't the best, very difficult to manouver onto and not level - but we only have a small caravan so no worries.

very friendly wardens and a nice site (fish and chip van was there 1st night, not healthy but very handy!), although why they decided to de-forest the place with chainsaws from 9am in the middle of summer was beyond me!

Longleat safari park is very good, the house is lovely and there is an entertainment area round the back which is good for younger kids - ours said it was for little kids...

hope this helps, let me know if you want any more info.

Hi

We've just returned after spending 5 nights there, our third time. Kids loved it. We also like the site. Site is usual Cc standards for toilet block, washing machines etc, wardens sold quite a few things from the office eg bread, milk, eggs, colouring things for the kids etc. DVD's were on in the family room at certain times. There's a small childrens play area with some swings etc. Wardens helpful and understood about Autistic Spectrum disorder, (one of our children has ASD). Use the bus for the safari park, you need to book early, the monkeys are rampant on cars. You can buy a passport for all the attractions at Longleat, worth the money, we bought ours on line. Longleat house and all the attractions are a few minutes walk away. Supermarkets are at Frome and Warminster. We will be returning in the future. Annette

We visited in the spring we could not find fault, the hard standings are the biggest pitches we have had, we have only started caravaning a year ago but it was the best site so far

Avon area (and probably others) run a green field rally on the side of the hill every year as well.

We have done both and the CC site is really very good but my preference is the rally, but that is definitely a personal choice.

This year we had beautiful views of Longleat house over the lakes.

Longleat itself is very good with good staff and enough to keep a family occupied for more than a weekend. We went there for a weekend and had to go back another day to tick all the boxes.

Stayed on this site three times in the last four years. Great site well up to CC standards with so much to do within walking distance you hardly need to use the car.
