Absolute desecration. It is illegal to pick or disturb bluebells. I hope that he does not get retrospective planning permission, but rather a hefty fine, and the penalty to reinstate the land.

The caravan club specifically asks about planning application when a landowner applies to become a CL...
"Has the proposed Certificated Location, or any adjacent land, been the subject of a planning application or formal discussions with the Planning Authority with regard to any form of development within the last 5 years?" and also in their information state "Please do not make a start on any works until you have applied to us and received our decision in writing." and "You may be required to consult with neighbours" and that they should possess "level land of ½ acre or more"
so although named in the news reports I wonder if there has been any involvement with the club at all?

Sounds like they jumped the gun. The club are very careful and I doubt they have agreed to the work. The paper does not seem to have contacted them for their position which looks like a serious error.
