I think they have a floating roof by the looks of it but I’m sure it shouldn’t bang with a little wind. Thanks for your replyI’d have a chat with your Dealer and Coachman customer services.
Could be anything , at worst a delamination of the roof skin from the insulation component?
Not something I have ever encountered.
Just under a year old. Purchased brand new and this is the first time we have heard it. We used the van from May to October last year and nothing at all. What age is the van? has this been happening for a long time?
John
The dealer is useless and coachman are even more. I’ve contacted the dealer about the window that was leaking in the door last September and am still waiting for coachman apparently to get back to them. They’ve had my money and can’t be bothered nowI have seen on forums that the Coachman roofs are a "floating" type, and panting does occur, the only way to be sure is to contact a dealer, or better still Coachman in Hull.
I think that by now I would have upped the ante and reminded the dealership of their obligations under UK consumer laws. The dealer is useless and coachman are even more. You’re correct pal. I was going in to the dealership the other week but my wife wouldn’t let me as I don’t have a fuse anymore let alone a short one. It’ll end up in the window if they carry on. 🤣I think that by now I would have upped the ante and reminded the dealership of their obligations under UK consumer laws.
More than likely the dealer has not even bothered to contact Coachman. You could contact Coachman direct and ask if the dealer has submitted a claim or contact the dealer and ask for a claim reference. You do not mention when the caravan was purchased. If the issue was raised within 6 months of purchase, you are in a stronger position for a claim. The dealer is useless and coachman are even more. Caravan is nearly 12 months old. We mentioned some other issues pretty much straight away but the roof has only come to light over the weekend.More than likely the dealer has not even bothered to contact Coachman. It is proving that the fault existed at time of purchase and you may need to get an independent AWS caravan technician to give you a report verifying the fault has been there since day one. The report normally costs about £50 or did when we had an issue.Caravan is nearly 12 months old. Have emailed the dealer with a video. However as the caravan is under a year old and in warranty, you need to contact the dealer preferably in writing to advise of the issue. Do this as soon as possible to form a "paper trail". As the dealer seems to be useless, ask them to send you a claim number once they have raised the issue with Coachman.
Excellent but not good you have had to do this at all. Please keep us posted.Good luckHave emailed the dealer with a video. Thankyou for the advice.
I wish I had finance on it then I’d just stop paying it and hand it overExcellent but not good you have had to do this at all. Please keep us posted.Good luck
We got caught once and after that we would take out finance for 5 years paying a very large deposit so repayments were about £100 a month. Normally paid it in full after 3 years, but you are still covered by finance house for several more years.I wish I had finance on it then I’d just stop paying it and hand it over
Somebody I know had an Elddis on finance, it was damp three years on the bounce after being repaired each year. They handed it back to Lloyd’s, but they had to keep paying the finance until the claim was settledI wish I had finance on it then I’d just stop paying it and hand it over
