We have a 04 reg Renault New Scenic 1.9DCI and are thinking of taking up caravaning. Has anyone any experience of towing with this car?

jim, check your weights very carefully.i nearly got a scenic a few years ago and the dealer could not tell me the figures i needed.did a towsafe check and found the scenic weight a little light

i tow with a 1.5 100 bhp dci scenic 600mls towimg so far great 35 40 mpg 60 solo van 1100 max 1.9 should be good just watch your max weight of van

For Scenic models Renault set a rather low Maximum Train Weight, the maximum weight for loaded car and caravan combined. The limit is between 2900 and 3000 kg. Kerbweight for a scenic is about 1350 kg, adding a family with camping gear leave about 1100 kg max for a caravan
