Are you aware that gas heaters have been invented? The word I am looking for is "Respect" for our Vanning neighbours whatever it may be...We are all different..I love Vanning and tolerate most things from other people when away..but I cannot for the life of me see why folk have to sit all n ight in an often cold awning..wrapped up in a blanket just to watch a T.V. Why not buy a Tent...cheaper I think!!
Chris .
phil...I am sorry you feel that you would not like the Caravan Club sites...most if not all are excellent..and by the very nature that they get booked up goes to prove that you are in the minority I feel. I am curious as to what kind of site you do use.? We have been a member of the Club for a lon g time and have good times on them..and yes we do enjoy ourselves and laugh as well...but with due respect for others on site. This just makes my conviction stronger...never NEVER do I want to stay on a CC site.....what happens if I laugh or enjoy myself...the consequences do not bear thinking about.
I had a problem in a hotel in the US a couple of years ago & at 2am insisted that they get the General Manager down, on the basis, that 'if I'm not allowed to sleep, he certainly isn't'Nick,
If I had woken the warden at 1am. then I would have been no better than the neighbours.
I had a word with them the next day.
Probably I am an exception but to support my arguement there are a lot of caravans moving off sites at any one time ....and in my case i was travelling over 2oo miles next day and the caravaners next to me was enjoying drinks laughing and talking loud with friends well after midnight with their kids playing outside to add to the noise... I asked them to consider my position and they all apologised and dispersed...thought I might of got the Glasgow kissWell said Highlander, you've got the right idea.
To be considerate to other people on the site you would need to assess the needs of people around you. That means the people with children who are in bed early, the people who's holiday involves quietly relaxing in thier own company.
I'm sure you are considerate enough to be able to enjoy a social gathering without broadcasting your event to those around you.
That goes without saying buddy, absolutely give respect to others. The point i am trying to make is it seems some people in here object to folks having the audacity to sit out in their awning (something which costs some dough) and totally chill out during the long summer nights. 11pm, cmon, get a grip here, give folk the chance to reasonably hang loose away from their mundane Monday to Friday jobs. No-one would welcome revellers and ravers, i am relating to chilled out evenings, if this is the sort of response i get from some others when i can have the opportunity, then i'm afraid there would be no coming back, better off in the pub, or the house. Some folks need to have a look at themselves.Well said Highlander, you've got the right idea.
