Pajero

Hi thinking of buying an imported Pajero 2.8 diesel LWB has any one towed with one and whats it like i.e. fuel ride etc thanks gaz

Hi Gary

I tow with a 2.5 diesel swb Pajero with no problems. I've owned the car for 4 years now and find it to be reliable if a bit thirsty round town. If I just use it in town for short trips and stop/ start motoring I only get about 22mpg but this can improve to about 30mpg on motorways etc at sensible speeds. Towing is in the low 20 mpg area with a t/a caravan but steady as a rock up hill and down dale.

These cars need regular engine oil, fuel and oil filter changes to remain trouble free and without smoke and a good website to look at is the free to join Pajero Owners Club

http://www.pocuk.com/howtojoin.htm
The club has good advice for prospective Pajero owners and deals comprehensively with maintenance, parts, insurance etc.

Hope this helps

I aggree with everything that Parksy says and have owned and towed with SWB Paj/shoguns for several years. I am getting the same sort of MPG on my petrol 3.5 GDI albeit a more modern car.

My advice would be to get the best available and if buying direct from auction or importer go for the highest Auction category you can afford.
