We're off to Looe CC site in the early hours of this coming Friday morning, knowing that we can't or shouldn't get in before 2pm. I think that with a couple of toilet stops and some breakfast it will take 8 hours as its 300 miles dor to door. Green flag takes us A14,M6, M42, M5 south and so on from Peterborough. The question is what delays am i likely to encounter, what are the bottle necks ??

hi, we have just come back from hayle cc site we changed from looe at the last minute as there is a dog ban on south beaches. it took us from coventry to looe 6 hours with 3 stops but we went on a sunday and a week before the kids broke up.

we dont go m42 we prefer to go a46 then onto the m5 theres not much in it and its a much nicer run. there are alot of speed camaras on the m5 by bristol.

hope this helps. have a good time

Neil,

We came back from Cornwall on Saturday aftyer two weeks there. We went down on the Friday morning from North Yorkshire and were there in just over 8 hours - no problems at all except for one small hold-up on the A30 near Bodmin, the M5 near Bristol was fine when we were there at around 2pm. Coming back on the Saturday was a different story! - Northbound was busy but okay, Southbound was stopped or 20-30mph from Bristol to Taunton. Moral - never travel on a Saturday!

Have a great holiday,

Neal

Ok , so we've decided to leave Peterborough at 0300 Friday morning so we can get well past BRistol on the M5 before the busy period kicks off. But i guess we'll hit plymouth at a busy time but it don't matter cause we're on holiday

Breakfast then at "Windy Ridge" cafe on a roundabout heading towards Looe just after Saltash...anyone know it ? CC wardens have already been very helpful and deserve praise for telling us about this place....we'll see just how good the breakfast is ?
