Actually so was mine but like you say he can do more visits with a all -wheel drive system

Why, apart from snow or ice, the AWD makes little difference to his speed on the GP circuit🙈

Just to add that Tesla’s have no set service schedule other than tyre rotation at 6500miles, blades every 12 months, brake fluid 2 yearly, cabin filter etc. Some of the tasks can be done by non Tesla agencies without invalidating the warranty. The car tells you when work is required and dependant on the work a Tesla mobile tech can attend to your home or preferred location. Estimated total cost over 3 years/60000 miles are £338 based on 2024 prices. Much cheaper than even a small petrol engined car. Add to that the savings in energy (fuel costs) and it’s a not unattractive option.

I was researching ownership ie service costs of EVs. Hyundai Ioniq services were same if not higher than for ICE car which gets oil change and filter every service. Services are must to keep factory warranty valid.

My RAV 4 hybrid service was quite a lot more than for the Toyota EV service. Full service RAV4 £430 cf £285 for BZX4. £280 cf £175 for intermediate service.

Must say Hyundai service prices are not so transparent as Toyotas.

Cutting through the obvious , but not prejudiced , script,the truth is there is a minimal difference in cost .
ICE needs oil , an oil filter and fuel filter. Say £60/80 . Everything else is the same as an EV.
Some may say EV tyres don’t last as long as an ICE?

What really matters is what suits your driving needs and pocket. At the moment I sense there are smoking mirrors , prejudices and marketing ploys.
