Mates got one and used it without problem, personally prefer a more professional repair, helpful I suppose if you've no spare as a temporary repair although it makes me wonder upto what speed/weight/pressure they are rated at

My granddaughter had to return from a construction site in west wales and found she had got a puncture. The site was in the back of beyond and her recovery said it would be some hours before they could attend. By which time the site would have been closed and it would be dusk. . So one of the workers offered to try a temporary repair with a similar kit, as her goo kit would not have worked vin its own.

After repairing it it held pressure so she set off for home, keeping to the inside lane on motorways, where there was an inside lane. Next day she got a new tyre.

I had a temporary repair kit when I was off roading, but I was always under the impression that they were illegal for on road use.

Google AI suggests they aren't specifically illegal but only appropriate as a temporary repair, as in your grand-daughter's case.

I carry the strings and CO² inflater cartridges on my Motorcycle, never had to use it, but friends have used both , the "Mushrooms" and the strings very successfully.

Seems to me the main difference is they are not a vulcanised repair. But as a get you out of a fix I'm buying one for emergency use🤪

I have the goo in the car, but do not want to use it unless very desperate. I also have a phone. I pay for roadside and home assistance. So I would just call. My car does not even have a jack.

Have considered a slimline spare, but there is a sub woofer in the way.
