With all these ideas - a base line weight for the van. Take it to a weigh bridge, and find out how much payload you _really_ have before you are overweight.
It's amazing how quickly it gets used up...
Did that recently and discovered I was lot more overweight than expected. Switched to a LiFeP04 battery fitted with anderson connector so it is quick to disconnect. That now travels in car, which reduced weight in van by 28kg compared to AGM. Another 17kg by throwing spare wheel in car.

We went from Pb to LiFePO4 and saved about 10KG. It lives under the floor under the bed so we dont take it out to travel. However, if we need the additional van payload, the spare wheel does come out and ride in the car boot.
