Hi Sam,

I have had two,; phase two 2L petrol H plate and Phase 3 W plate 2.2 grande diesel. Always bought second hand.

Both very roomy for a family, good seating and height children like to be able to see out, Economy not brilliant but they are big and relatively heavy. the grande give an extra foot (30cm) of load space behind the rear seats which is great.

I use my diesel for towing a large TA box trailer that can go as high as 2Tonnes. The Espace copes well with it - it always feels in control. The only time when it has caused a problem when towing was pulling away up a moderately steep gravel drive and I got front wheel spin. - but you would get that with any front wheel drive car.

Adequate power to keep up with most traffic

They are some down points though, When they go wrong they are expensive to repair. I have had an oil cooler radiator blow (

I have to agree with Partsman, on any forum you read of problems with various cars, however, when Renault cars are running, they are very comfortable and a nice drive, but when they go wrong, which in my case is very very frequently, then they are horrendously expensive to repair.

Oh ,forgot to add in previous post,,new ignition barrel,

I've owned Renaults since 1984 and have in my fleet, had two phase two espaces both of which were 2 litre petrols. I have towed extensively with them. I lugged a 1967 Jaguar 420 on an Ifor Williams trailer all the way from Glasgow to Leominster Herefordshire without problems, despite being over loaded.

I've never spent more than
