Hi Jennifer,
If you get the ferry to Stranraer / Cairnryan and don't want to travel far......These are Caravan Club sites but non members are allowed.
1.New England Bay Drummore. An excellent family site right beside a wonderful sandy beach,( nice and flat for children )
There's a light house at Drummore and on a good day you can see Ireland!!
Port Logan nearby is a lovely little hamlet with beach and harbour.....Logan Botanical Gardens are also worth a visit.
Portpatrick is just along the coast.
2.
Further north in Ayrshire is Craigie Gardens Club Site in the town of Ayr.Handy for exploring around the Ayrshire coast.
and of course, someone has already given you details of Brighouse Bay nr. Kirkcudbright. My son and his family go here on a regular basis. The kids adore the place.
So now you have some homework to do.If you need any more info.let us know.
