Hi, Can anyone recommend any sites near to Sete, they can be inland or near the sea if inland would travel for about 1/2 hour to get to the sea. Pools would be ideal as we have 3 children aged 12,10 & 8.

Thank you

Camping Neptune, at Grau d'Agde is very nice - a family site, with a smallish pool and good sanitary facilities, a small bar/restaurant, and very nice friendly management and staff, good sized pitches, with some shade. It's near to the Herault river, and the Canal du Midi (in the town of Agde itself). You're about a kilometres from the safe sandy beach at Grau d'Agde (not Cap d'Agde of the nudist beaches) and a similar distance from the Canal du Midi. You're probably about 15 minutes from Sete. I don't know when you're planning to go, but if it's after 17th August the site accepts Camping Cheques, bringing down the cost from the normal site tariff of 27 euros per night for the pitch, two people, and electricity, to

Sorry, just to add another nice site is Domaine de Massereau at Sommieres which is inland, (perhaps 40 minutes from Sete) but a lovely site, with pools and slides, an adventure playground in the woodland of the site, and a nice bar/restaurant/take-away/shop area. Good sized pitches, and excellent sanitary facilities.

It's also a Camping Cheque site with a fantastic swimming pool complex and a supermarket only half a mile away. Plus, if your trip happens to be around 7th / 8th July, the greatest ( free ) sporting show on earth will be on the doorstep.

On the 8th the Tour de France starts at Cap d'Agde and passes directly past the site whilst on the previous day, the Team Time Trial ( a very spectator-friendly stage even to a non-cyclist ) follows a route round Montpellier which is only a few miles away.

Olly.

In 2006 we stayed at Camping Les Foulegues, Valras Plage. A quiet sitev with swimmimg pool and not too far from Sete. When are you going? At the end of August the whole coast was very windy - We were told it was the mistral wind, a regular visitor.

For your information try this link www.campinglesfoulegues.com/english/

Hi Mike

There are quite a few good sites at Marseillan Plage approx 6 miles from Setes. Some of these site border the sea and the sandy beach is great for kids. The sea is shallow for a good distance out so ideal for kids.

Try Beauregard Est (www.camping-beauregard-est.com) but there many others with pools etc under this area - it depends what you want

Happy Caravanning

Graham
