We had a Bailey side dinette for about 3 years, no problems really. We only changed to fixed rear bunks when our two young boys really needed a proper bed. The only hassle with a side dinette is making and un-making the beds every day. Also on an evening with children asleep in the side beds you have to be quiet etc whilst watching tv and using the kitchen because they are right next to you with just a curtain swished around them. But for just two people an ideal layout.

We have also considered a side dinette, 4 berth as opposed to a 2 berth for similar reasons.

We decided that there was too much compromise on storage and space in the end bathroom to be worthy of changing. As per usual there is a trade off, the more you want the bigger the van, the bigger the van the bigger the towcar, the bigger the towcar the bigger the expenses.

For rare occasions that we may have anyone with us, we will sleep in the awning !Besides, if the grandchildren can be put up too easily I can forsee a surfeit of "sitting" duties !
