sites as near to the beach as possible

does anyone know of any caravan sites (club or commercial) right on the beach/shore? so i'm not far to sea fish

whitehouse beach cc site is right on the beach at kessingland near lowestoft, stayed there last year very nice site.

You could try http://www.shellisland.co.uk/shell/camp/camp.htm it's a bit basic the further you go away from the main site buildings nut you are not far from the sea.

Choose where you pitch carefully we had a tent when we stayed and it threw it down with rain all evening and all night, we woke up in the morning with 6" of water all through the tent.

Having just said about Shell Island I know they take tents and camper vans but I am not sure about vans so you would need to check.

Don't know anything about fishing but...

The Caravan Club site near Campbelltown on the Kintyre peninsula is right on the shore. It's a few years since we stayed there but we were about 10 yards from the beach.

We've also stayed at a commercial site at Findochty on the Moray coast which was just as close and is also right on the harbour side. The facilities were very clean and welcoming but the showers were tiny.

The Caravan and Camping Club site at Inverewe is also right on the water edge. The scenery is magnificent and we saw a Golden Eagle whilst we were there.

The Camping and Caravan Club site at Rosemarkie on the Moray Firth is right by the beach and if you are lucky you might even catch one of the local Dolphins which come in to the Firth for the Salmon. Jim.

There is a CC site (Old Hartley, Tyne & Wear) right on the top of the cliffs. You will need to book though as it is a very popular area.
