Snapped cord

Our Swift Accord 2021 panoramic blind has snapped. It’s going to cost £400 + to sort it out as we’ve been told that the whole unit has to be replaced.
I saw a thread from 2012 where “ bristle” used a cork jammed into the channel to keep the blind up. Will the cork keep the blind closed at night too?
Any other remedies as very reluctant to pay over £400 to fix a snapped cord! 20251031_130942_Original.jpeg20251031_130942_Original.jpeg

We simply fixed ours and not need for a new blind. Any AWS technician would be able to do the job at a fraction of the price quoted by the dealer if you are unable to do it yourselves.
Hi. Thanks. Can I ask what is an AWS technician?

Approved Workshop Scheme.
A technician approved to service your caravan whilst maintaining the warranty

Thanks. I will speak to a technician in the new year . There is an AWS workshop where our van is stored and it was the service guys there who told us we would have to buy a complete new unit and they would then replace it! It just seems so expensive when it's only a snapped cord.
I'll also contact another AWS workshop to see what they say.

Another option for a technician is MCEA. Their website gives location of where their technicians are based.

Strange , but I have just repaired a Hartel concertina blind for a client , got the instructions off a forum like this one. the cord is 1mm and can be bought off amazon. Also had to 'adjust a panoramic window blind as it was very stiff , again searched online for the method. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D9NVCRK7 . The advantage with MCEA is with being mobile = less overheads, so can be cheaper also you don't have to drag your beloved caravan to a workshop they will come to your location.
