Swift Challenger Replace Microwave

I have a Swift Challenger 560 2021. The microwave stopped heating which suggests the magnetron has failed. I have sourced similar models that I can buy at a lesser rate than from Swift but I am struggling to remove the old. I can removed the panel above and the method is supposed to lift it up and out but I am finding it difficult to lift it level to get out of the cavity. I don’t want to damage the wood at the bottom. Any suggestions?

On mine, it was a case of removing removing the top panel (there are screws hidden behind stickers in the inner panels either side of the microwave).
Then pull out the wooden shelf thing that sits above the microwave (its a tight fit). Microwave then lifts up and out

Excellent that makes total sense. Thank you.

Managed to get it out thanks. What doesn’t make sense though is the manual states the dimensions as 595x343x382 but the microwave is smaller than that and the cavity too. I am looking to buy the recommended replacement Cookology IM20LSS which also has the larger dimensions in the manual!! Totally confused

Think its going to be a case of measuring the old one, then popping down Currys and seeing if you can find something similar.

The alternative is not cheap

Spoke to Cookology. The measurements include the fascia. He said it’s the third same query this week. Don’t feel so daft now. Thanks for the reply

Hi,
On that note, we've just bought a swift challenger 530se, & the microwave is dud. Looks like the same one used in the 2015 Conqueror. It has no branding (even on the back). Is the cookology one mentioned above a direct replacement, & fits straight in please? Thanks

I would suggest it would be exactly the same as the one I removed, I had to remove a base plate and modify the four feet to accommodate for height restriction but very simple to do....

Thanks Ken. Really sorry for what might seem like daft questions, but we are fairly new to this. Is the base plate the two strips of wood with metal over them (that the feet of the microwave drop into), or a baseplate on the actual microwave. Also, what mod did you have to do to the feet of the new one please? Thanks

I replaced one, I swapped the feet over from the dead one to the new one as the new one had longer feet. Other than that it was a doddle, less than 10 minutes

Thanks. Will get one ordered & see how we get on then 👍
Ordered the microwave & fitted it this morning. Fits perfectly & was very straightforward. If considering it, don't throw any parts away until your new one is in. The new fascia plate supplied was far bigger than our existing one, so the old one went back on. Feet also need swapping. Thanks to everyone on the forum who gave advice on this - without it, probably wouldn't have had the confidence to attempt this swap out 👍

What brand microwave did you eventually decide to buy?
