Switzerland

My husband and I are considering touring Switzerland this year, in our motorhome. Can anyone recommend any campsites, especially where we can go walking, sightseeing from the camp. WWhat would be the best and most economical time of year to visit? we are no longer restricted to school holidays.

Thanks

We allways use this site in Interlaken.

And this site for the Valais region

Also try this web site as a good search tool

If you want to be further up into the mountains then you could try Camping Grassi at Frutigen which we stayed at in June last year or if you go a bit further up to Kandersteg there is Camping Rendez Vous.

Look at the Eurocamp site at Llauterbrunnen. From this site you can walk to the waterfalls which are superb and also to the train station which will take you up into the mountains. You can also go further up by another train to go up the Jungfrau, which is a must. If doing this trip you MUST pick a clear day.

Others have already mentioned Lazy Rancho - I can confirm the site and location are ideal, within walking distance of Interlaken and the tourist tax collected within the site fees also provides free local bus transport and also rail between Interlaken Ost & Wilderswil. Interlaken really is the ideal base to explore the area from.
