Sorry Lisa I do apologise for my error as I honestly thought it was Clive and being too lazy to check back.

Hell now I am apologising to Lisa, Clive V and Lord B. If there is any body else out there who deserves my apology please accept this as a blanket cover apology.

LIsa I have just been looking at another posting which I statred regarding the government which has turned into a pro and anti hunt debate (for want of a better word). It will be really amazing at this Forum Meet as there will be all out anarchy between the pros and antis of 4x4s and fox hunting. Oh to be a spectator as I am sure it will be a better show than anything on the TV. Could we get the BBC or ITV to attend and broadcast it as a MATCH OF THE DAY?

Don't worry about the meet. There's one good thing, I might be taking my juicing machine so any debates might not be alcohol fuelled. I think some of the chaps might prefer to drink carrot or beetroot juice as a pose to Stella.

Lisa.
YUK!!!

OK guys. Question the school run but if a little or large lady wants to drive a 4 x 4 to Tesco or School its hers and her partners choice.

They paid for it and the tax and insurance, running costs and fuel bills and Tony and Gordon will have got a big chunk of that money.

I don't drive a 4 X 4 at present but stuff anyone who questions what you drive. It is your choice!

As I've seen people at my local school puffing on fags and debating the 4 x 4's along the road and then get in a Porsche, MG, MR2 or the like, and they can reverse no better than the ladies in the 4 x 4's and have little idea of handling the potential power of their sports cars , but that is their choice.

Free country so sports car, MPV,PC,4x4 or hatchback keep your noses out and live and let live!

Well said Cris.

What gets me is that I can have a discussion on here about, say, Hunting and we can all agree to difer (Tho I haven't seen the latest thread so I have that pleasure to come!)

LB and I disagree totally on Hunting - but we still "get on" and have a laugh without getting all silly and knicker twisted.

Have you heard about those fools that block the roads pulling caravans behind thir cars!!!!!!!!!

Hang on hang on! That's what I do!!!!!!!!!!! No not block roads, but tow a van. Drive what you want when you want and if you want to hunt so be it. I have no wish to chase animals but respect others wishes as I tuck into my roast that some slaughterhouse man killed out of my squeamish sight! Roast pork on Sunday, TASTY!

Why can't we atack politicians and the darn nosy do gooders that are screwing up this country :)

Mods can we delete this thread, I am heartily sick of the 4x4 goor or evil debate. this site is about caravaning not the goodness or evilness of the 4x4 and its many owners, please s*d off to a car forum and have that debate because frankly I'm sick to death of it

The thread started as a 4x4 joke got an odd responce that seemed to indicate that those in MPV's or 4x4's cannot reverse park then evolved into a debate on driving experience.

Thereafter it just became a well ordered chat

Dif views from dif people but that is to be expected.

The only person who seems to want to reopen the 4WD debate would look to be you Richard - by asking for censorship of a thread you do not like.

Freedom of speach applies to all - even if we disagree with what is being said.

you are right freedom of speech applies to all, if we all always agreed there would be no debate, my point was that although in the most part a healthy discussion there was the various people asking Craig to grow up and all the usual digs about 4x4 owners being good or bad etc etc and as a fairly new person to these forums I am already fed up with the constant name calling and digs like grow up cropping up everytime a debate about 4x4's starts. I am also sick of so many threads that start of on one subject ending up as a 4x4 debate. I already avoid most 4x4 threads but as other threads keep getting hijacked its making the forum a pointless place to visit. Once the thread is hijacked the original subject of the thread gets lost and the whole 4x4 thing starts again. I have no problem with having a discussion about the good or bad of 4x4's their drivers or they use they are put to but please can we not hijack eery thread with the subject, just stick a note in the thread that you aregoing to debate the 4x4 part of it on the tow vehicle section and leave the original subject to be debated, sorry if I'm ranting but I thought the mods said previously that the 4x4 debate should be kept to the towcar section and the other sections should be hijacked with the 4x4 debate. If you start the 4x4 debate in the towcar forum I'll happily join in I love free speech but the claim of free speech for all shouldnt be used to justify hijacking all the threads with a debate on one subject

blimey I got carried away there, by the way happy new year to all those that read this far :)

I spent a happy two or so hours last week in Brooklands M & S whilst my daughter hit the sales racks! I planned to read the paper bur spent most of the time watching people parking and reversing. One young lady turned out of her bay the side of her new Polo went up over the SS trolley barrier dislodging the large tube with the cars inside rear wheel a good foot off the ground as the tube flatened the side of her car she just kept driving away. Next candidate was a 30 something exec type in a new soft top Audi who tried three bays that a tank would have fitted in before driving into a tree in the 4th, when HE left he managed to reverse into a car behind even though his car had parking sensors! I spent my time observing numerous styles of cars driven by men and women. Most should not be on the road I guess what ever their ages whether they are in mini, vectra or 4X4 and those sporting tow bar and twin electrics obviously do not post on here :)

My daughters friend wont park in the street unless she can find a place on the end where she can drive straight onto. She drives around for ages until she finds one.

Hi Richard

Its not what you say, I say or any one says.

Its the fact that you ask for the thread to be deleted for what is in my opinion - no good reason at all.

The Chit Chat topic was set up for us all to have a laugh. The initial joke was ok - but the next comment did not seem to be "called for"

Hence the mild comments - after those virtually no mention of 4x4's until your post!!!

clive if you check through you will see that around 50% of the posts contain 4x4 or chelsea tractor etc, Personally I dnt care about that what I care about is that yet another thread has been hijacked and once again the mods had to ask people to stop chucking insults around, I love a good debate, as you can tell by the one we are having, what I dont like is the fact that the 4x4 debate hijacks threads and seems to usually descend into name calling, christ if we cant have a grown up debate without resulting to childish insults theres no poin in allowing anything other than factual comments

Mentioning 4x4 or Chelsea tractor in a post is hardly an overbearing problem on this thread and I agree that in the past name calling got out of hand - especially as I was on the receiving end of much of the name calling!

But I agree with you on the grown up debate point.

Which makes it all the more strange that you called for the moddies to censure exactly that.
