Surely as a good regular customer who has just had a full service last week your Dealer could pull a few strings?
My engineer has all the VW software on his diagnostic computer. It is very clear the RAC is a general one that has not drilled down to the exact locus of the fault like I had..
Another garage maybe that has better diagnostics? Be a shame to lose your holiday

Call the service manager or dealer principal - dealers should be able to fit regular customers in, if only to do the diagnostics and order parts in - Service Advisors are just jobsworths.

If it was me, I'd take the time to check out other VW dealers in your area.

If it was Me, I would change to a Hyundai, or Kia.
BB, it will probably be something simple, my friends Turaeg, EMS light was on coming home from Switzerland, he stopped several times, light always there, He refuelled in Holland prior to getting on the ferry. Light went off. All to do with pressure sensors.

My Hyundai Santa Fe spent more time "off-road" than all my previous cars put together - I sold it just before the warranty ran out and bought my Touareg - when the Touareg had issues with its sunroof while up in Scotland, the local dealer was able to temporarily fix it while we waited.

Some are good some are bad, warranty times with the Korean stuff is great. I meet some one with a SF, waited almost 6 month for a wheel bearing.
New cars, lack of new spares.

I do wonder why , in my case the VW owners handbook doesn’t tell you the same fault codes meanings as the plug in diagnostic VW kit.?

VW Owners handbooks are voluminous as they are, with all their safety warnings - there are many thousands of fault codes, too many for generic OBD readers let alone the handbook.

Hi DD so do i could not understand RAC codes on my tiguan
Don't worry about codes as they can be hard to understand. On our Jeep if the battery drops below a certain level we have a number of error codes flash up and all are false. However understanding the error codes is another issue.

Happy Birthday BB,
When my Vectra 3.0 V6, kept going into limp mode, I had to go to a specialist place as the Vauxhall dealer didn't have an engineer suitable for the Isuzu engine.
These people put on the diagnostic reader and gave me a print out, charged me Β£120 and stated that it was No. 5 fuel injector. I took the print out home and diagnosed all the fault codes through, the internet, found one code stated ignore fuel injectors, as the fault was in the fuel injector pump filters.
Some engineers do not fully read the print outs or do not understand what they are diagnoseing. Thankfully I do.
