Touched today.

We have been really touched by the responses of our French, Dutch and German neighbours here in Turiscampo, Portugal. One by one they have called in to say how sad they are to hear about the Queen's death. Sometimes friendship transcends the ugliness of politics.

Don't forget that there are still many royal families in Europe. Apart from the UK there are Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Leichtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, and Andorra although the last four are either duchies or principalities. The first five and the UK have familial links albeit some may be quite long in the tooth!

God Bless Her Majesty.

Yes I have to agree. We were in France during the Queen's Jubilee cellebrations and I put Union Flag bunting all around my caravan to mark the occassion. I too was very pleasantly surprised by the very positive comments from the French, German, Dutch, Swiss and other nationalities who passed by.
The end of an era.
Rest in peace our Queen.
God save the King.

Don’t forget the “ King of the Ecclesiastical State” is sometimes linked to royal status. But that title is infrequently used for the Pope, who has absolute power over Vatican City.
