Taken from the CAMC Forum

“My tow car is a 1992 Citroen BX TZD Turbo. The BX won Tow Car of the Year in 1984 and BX diesels won the diesel category in 1985, 1987 and 1989. Does anyone have old club magazines containing the write ups of the car? I'd be very interested to read them. Thanks.a”

Has anyone on here previously or now use a TC of the Y?

I had a BX 16 petrol estate. Excellent car that replaced a Volvo 245 GLE estate ( a dog).
After three years owning another dog ( Discovery 2 five pot) I let it go and bought a Kia Sorento which was Towcar of the Year and undoubtedly God’s gift to caravanners. I didn’t buy the cars because they were TCOY but because I liked them and needed to rehome the “dogs”. Plus Skoda Suoerb 4WD estate

I had a BX 1900 diesel non turbo, early 1980’s. Just 62 bhp if I remember. Excellent tow car but underpowered. I purchased the extra fan kit for towing. Pulled my Ace Rallyman to Lubec in hot weather. My foot needed to be hard down most of the way. How annoying. The second fan never came on once.

Here’s the list.
Back in 2005 we had a Kia Sorento which became a tuggers delight until the more modern 2.2 tdi engine appeared, same as the legendary Hyundai Santa Fe

I've always ignored "Car of the Year" in its various forms as the entries are limited to newly announced models, some years there's only weak alternatives, other years several strong contenders - the competitions would be greatly enhanced by including any previous winners if they're still in production.

I don’t know if it would have towed well, but in 1967 I was about to buy one of these for £50

I had to cancel the deal when I was told about a certain pregnancy. 🙁☹️

That was a proper car.
