Ullswater Caravan Site and Marina

Has anyone been there, if so, any good?

It's a bit late to be asking really, as we are booked in there over the August bank holiday.

I spoke to them earlier this week and they said they were really limited on space for tents (my son and his girlfriend are camping with us); as the many of the pitches are water logged. Apparently some of the local camping sites are closed due to being water logged. They suggested we ring on the Thursday to see what the situation was. Doesn't bode well.

We were there during all the rain 2 years ago this week, tents were on virtually every bit of grass.

The site itself, was okay, we were disappointed with the servicesoffered, but the rain did not help, rain every day, some fantastic walks around the area.

We were on the most remote pitch, got pretty wet going to and from the toilet block, club house was okay.

There is a really good indian take away in penrith, fairly easy to get anywhere off the 66.
