upgrading an old braking system

Hi, I have a 1980s Ace Award 12/2, it has the B&B chassis with the rod braking system, when I bought this it was seized, I have now freed it all up & changed the brake shoes, but I would like to know is it at all possible to change the braking system Including the wheel hubs to a more modern system IE: an Alko braking system if so can anyone point me in the right direction as to what would be needed & the best place to get the items required.

Thank you

I suspect that the only realistic way of changing the braking system would be to exchange the whole chassis. Although this step sounds rather drastic, considering the alternative of having to purchase a myriad of components and probably having to adapt quite a lot of them to the B&B chassis, I think this would be the easier solution. After all the body is just screwed or bolted to the chassis, so fitting a new chassis shouldn't be that difficult. However, you may, of course have to drill new holes and close existing ones in the floor panel. I'd get in touch with AlKo directly. By all accounts, their technical service appears to be very helpful.
