I am thinking of buying the above car to tow my Ace Brightstar about 1300kgs max laden weight. The car that I am looking at is an 07 model. Has anyone any experience of this combination please. Any info on the Vectra as a towing vehicle would be greatly appreciated.
 
I'm fairly certain that there are issues with towing with the new diesel engines in the vectras.

I'm sure there are posts further in about it.

Hopefully I'm wrong cos they are a cracking car with that engine!
 
I had the 1.9CDTi 150 unit in an Astra SRi Estate.

Towing it was fine, with the benefit of the sport button to give some extra oomph!

But ours imploded at 17000 miles when the fuel pump broke up and sent bits through the fuel system. Cost of repair was
 
cant give much detail on the actual car itself,but the engines are bombproof,considering how many are about,but obviously there always be the oddone.we pull about 1300kgs with a fiat stilo 140jtd,which is the same fiat engine as saab and vauxhall use.up to now been great.60mph=1800rpm,38mpg pulling van.very rarely come out of top gear on motorway.
