Is this a wind up on a special occasion as most climate sites seem to rate East Anglia amongst the driest areas of Britain.

When I was working at North Denes,,you could look out over the airfield and see sailing yachts about a mile away inland. It really spooked me, especially when I first saw them in the morning mist on a rising tide.
Read up upon the Old Bridge between Hunstanton and Gibraltar point, that is now another RSPB , that unfortunately was never built across The Wash.

We are in Snettisham and this evening the cloud started to lift and we went down the beach, and whilst being on the east coast we enjoyed a marvellous sunset over the sea. Actually the Wash ๐
Thankfully it is a nice night, lovely area, but looks up about the Old Viking Wooden. Bridge, Hunstanton to the other side of the Walsh.
Brilliant start to the day as out at 0600 clear sky and light just coming up. Walked towards the beach as skeins of geese were predicted to take flight around 0630 (ish). Dead easy bird watchingโฆegrets, Godwit, Greylag and ducksRus. Dog was very hyper and probably not my best idea to take a Sprocker to a holiday next to a bird reserve. See the likeness.

Had a very good week here in Norfolk. Rain whatโs that? Even found the Crab Hut and a nearby Roman Fort! But as for Old Hunstanton Bridge we gave that a miss. Next time perhaps.
We have been lucky wrt the tides as there have been very high tides which has given us great sightings of the bird murmurations over the Wash. Out at 0630 today for an initial peek, then again at 0930 coinciding with high tide. Cannot believe the number of Twitchers in the Snettisham Beach reserve. Like an army on the move. As well as the Knott and Sanderling had good sightings of Spoonbill in a far back area away from the beach.
Starting to sort out the chattels ready for packing and home tomorrow.

No summer here on Skye but Autumn is just about to start and looks promising so far. At least 4 days without rain and wall to wall sunshine - then a Sea Haar this morning.
Last night.....
Then this morning the Haar came in and eventually covered the house until about 12.30pm.
Equinox tomorrow - Autumn starts Sept 23rd.
The caravan sits around the back of the house. I suggested we move it to the front to get the view and we could have our coffee and cake in it.

In Lancashire we don't have haar we have rain and it doesn't just cover our house it covers the county and intrudes to into neighbouring countries,it usually lasts at least a week ....we don't have summer either ๐...enjoy yourselves..Gary
I remain to be convinced that the idea of a tidal barrage including a container port between Hunstanton and Gibraltar Point is a good idea. One concern would be the effect on wildlife in the The Wash which is an internationally recognised wildlife area. The second thought is having container ships load and off load in an area with pretty poor onward distribution links of roads or rail. I once had dealings with Maersk and back in 2003 they told me that it cost 10 times as much to forward a container in Britain as it did to bring it from China. Just build Sizewell C โก๏ธ
I love haggis - for several years our local Morrisons made them available as a Burns Night special but a change of manager ended that - on our recent Scottish tour I discovered that Wetherspoons in Scotland have a haggis pizza on their menu - it was quite nice.
