Which is better, Camping and Caravanning Club or Caravan and Motorhome Club?

With the number of dog attacks, (not on sites) over the last couple of years, I suspect the insurance industry is only another attack or two away from imposing severe restrictions/bans and/or eyewatering premiums on allowing dogs in public places they insure.

I certainly think that they will charge more for some breeds.

Isn't a sense of proportion required on this subject. The vast majority of reported dog attacks that have led to death or severe injury have been related to an indoors domestic situation, or a limited area outside of the domestic residence. On caravan sites dogs in the vast majority of cases are onleads or should be as site rules demand it, except perhaps in designated dog walk areas where the site rules may allow free roaming.

I think the issue is where some irresponsible dog owner thinks that their pet does not have to be on a lead. This is compounded when the site warden does not enforce the rule and turns a blind eye.
Unfortunately a couple of years ago a dog that was not on a lead attacked one of our Yorkshire terriers who was walking along minding his own business. The other dog was a cross Alsatian type dog.
The owner gave us £200 towards vet costs although it did cost slightly more by about £40. By the time we got back to the site he was gone. It could have just as easily been a child.
Our dog eventually fully recovered from the unnecessary and unprovoked savage attack.

The fatal dog attack at Tencreek happened inside a static caravan.
According to news reports a 9 year old boy was left alone in a static caravan in the early hours while his mother was in a neighbouring static caravan drinking and taking cocaine.
The dog wasn't theirs.
Her friends pit bull terrier type dog followed her in to the static and when she left for more drinking and drug taking the dog was left alone with the boy.
Both the mother and the woman who owned the dog were jailed.
There are irresponsible dog owners on sites, we see the ones who believe that the rules don't apply to them time after time, but the fatality at Tencreek was due to an unusual set of circumstances.
