Wi-Fi Card and comments on Hillhead CC Site

Hi all,

This is our second time at Hillhead and the first time we've used the Caravan Club's wi-fi network. I have to say I am impressed, we've logged on with no problems at all. The cost of a 30 day card is a reasonable £33 and if you want access for a 2 week break it works out much cheaper than buying 2 individual weeks at £20 each. However, we leave on the 16th August (if we don't get blown away first!) and the card is valid until the 1st September, so if anyone wants it, they can have it for no charge, I'm on pitch 9 at the entrance to the tent field.

On a separate note, and I know this subject has been done to death, I never cease to be amazed by the lack of interest some parents show regarding where their children are and what they are doing. Last night the gaggle of teens stood in the kiddies play area kept us awake well past 11:30pm. Thats half and hour after the club had shut so where were the parents, and why weren't the "little darlings" at their own 'vans (which by the way were nowhere near the play area). I'm not a grumpy old sod but I really don't want to hear loud effing this and effing that at that time of night. I'm not advocating a no children policy but I do think parents should exercise some responsibility under these circumstances.

Totally agree with your comments re kids. We've got 3 ourselves and they are always inside by the time it's going dark. At Sheepcote Valley a couple of weeks ago, we had the same problem in the mornings - kids on the playarea, shouting and screaming at 7.30 in the morning.

People like this give all families a bad name.

Regarding wi-fi, don't expect it at Sheepcote Valley. Even though the site advertises having wi-fi, they won't sell it to you as apparently it doesn't work. We went to the nearby McDonalds and used their wireless access for free (apart from the 3 McFlurry's and 2 strawberry milkshakes we ended up with each time!)

I think the Wi Fi is very expensive at the caravan club sites, I have a 3 dongle and so far it has worked everwhere we have been. It had broadband speed at hawthorn farm, Sutton on sea and has also worked at Incleboro fields cromer and down near woodbridge in suffolk although only at dial up speed, at present we are at elvaston castle and again it works at broadband speed.
