We arrived home safely about 2:30pm. Rain all the way, and I thought the rain man stayed at Pickalot. :(

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend and see you all next year. :cheer:

Gotta go south a bit to be fair, it's a long way for the southerners to do again, me/we don't care wherever.
Lets see what 'Gummidge' comes up with.

(PS are you sure it wasn't you Kev screaming and stood on a chair? You're allowed Woosie moments!)

Another wash?? It didn't get one in the first place, I just took the opportunity, with all the wet dew on it, to wipe it down to remove all the tree sap and fly/wasp mess from when it was pitched under a tree at Bolton Abbey. Ask Sir Gagakev about being under a tree at the Woosiefest.

I echo all the accolades and praise given by all the Woosies. :)
Picklalot has been a resounding success with the best turnout ever. 12 caravans :cheer:
Woosies will say the choice of Pickalot by our ex Woosieness Sir Sproket will be his finest hour.
My special thanks to Martin and Jenny for joining us this weekend. An excellent effort you Woosies .
His Royal Woosieness, King Gaffer Bill, certainly has his work cut out over the next 12 months. His gift of a diy nose load gauge to Sir Sproket caused much debate. Fortunately Sir Gabs using his vast caravanning knowledge was able to do an instant calibration :p
Well done everyone who all made this a most memorable happy event.
I wonder where King Gaffer Bill will take us next year. We are happy with any location north east south or West.
There's a rumour Sir WC may be starting an on site car washing facility next year :p

Well the rain has come to Whitby but at no surprise as the resident rain man is with us .... having just got to the top of the 199 abby steps ....

Anyway thanks to Brian_c for the tip about the pie shop .... Yummy. .

I've just arrived home from a solitary long weekend at the Woodall Spa C&CC Site.
One day of sun one overcast and two really heavy rain.
Reading the posts it sounds like all the Woosies had a really good fest. I've called occasionally for meals at the Black Bull so knew the food was good but never really paid attention to the site. I'm guessing that must be good also judging from my vain attempt to get booked on.
Well. I'm pleased the pie shop lived up to my friends description I was a bit nervous mentioning it having not actually been myself.
Best wishes to all
Brian

The Woosie fest
So the Woosies went to Pickalot
For their great annual Fest
And all agreed  (like every year)
This one was the best!

Woosies came from across the land
They towed, some fast, some slow
One Woosie towed to a full stop
Petrol into Diesel doesn’t go.

Soon banners, flags and pretty lights
Decked awnings and van walls
But Woosies all; we stood agog
At Dave’s pole and coloured balls.

We greeted Woosies new and old,
And kindly thanked our Sprocket
For arranging such a super Fest
And showing off his Rocket.

Off to Whitby, for the day,
We went on the Steam rail train
We should have left Sir Kev behind
Soggy Woosies in the the rain.

But Kev’s force was clearly spent
As bright sunshine did abound
And on a sunny Saturday
Our New Woosie King was crowned.

Our farmer king was soon installed,
With crook and scarecrow crown
A toast of mead and Buckfast wine
And a slap up meal went down.

The Woosie fest is at an end
Next year join us if you will.
The time and place to be announced,
By Good King GAFFERBILL.

If Sir WC is going into the car cleaning business it'll be a difficult choice for me to use him, whether to sack my regular cleaners or not, --- think I might just stick with what I've got!

The two Woosies who have the most travelling constraints are Martin and Crazyguider. So if each can indicate the maximum safe and sensible distance they can travel; martin in a south westerly direction and Claire in a north easterly direction. Hopefully there will be an overlap and in that spot there will be the perfect site that our revered king can choose.

The mouse wanted to become a Woosie :cheer:
We had a fantastic time, the site was great (apart from the noisy dustmen at 6:45 this morning emptying the pubs bins :eek:hmy: ) and we'll look forward to meeting again next time.
We decided to come home this afternoon rather than in the morning, we had a nice cooked breakfast (cooked by yours truly) and a leisurely pack down before a steady tow back which took just 4 hours.
Next stop Unity in Brean in just over 3 weeks time :cheer:

Up to two hours max is about my lot for a weekend which is probably what we'll be restricted to.

The fest continues on my own :(
All set up at Lickhill manor and its raining cats and dogs. And some nutter is out on his lawnmower cutting the grass.
Lovely site though. But no good for a fest
No pub!!

You're in your van, open a bottle of red and listen to the patter of rain on the roof. I am back in work. :(

Thank's to DD for this great shot of me & Kev caught in the cloud of steam when they changed engines to go down the main line from Grosmont station to Whitby.
