I've stayed on Riverside Bill, an excellent well run site about a mile outside Stratford town centre and with a regular bus service for non swimmers or naviphobes. :)
This site was suggested some years back when we visited Poston Mill, an on site riverside bar which does food has been completed since and although the site can seem pricey you get what you pay for i.e. good clean toilets and showers, a well managed site and a nice location.
Early days for me yet but Wallingford looks like a very picturesque location so I'll pencil it in on next years calendar. :)

Stratford wouldn't be much further for us. Jenny says if she does the whole journey then we can do it in one hit. What price meeting up with such a great group?

If anyone ever want's to come back up this way for a get together I'll try and sort something for you all.

Wherever for us,
Extra Spring meet? -- Yep, why not replace the early PC rally we all used to do at Stowford with our own somewhere? All being well we'll do it.

Ps Probably not bank holiday though!

Love the idea of a spring meet, although we plan to go to mid Wales in 2017 for Easter as Sir F wants to go CAT...I looked at Bridge Villa for this Easter as I like that area.
Just reading the rally rules for Stratford - they expect you to be self sufficient in the facilities area (ha) and be a recognised club.
Interestingly I also looked at Atherstone yesterday, but see there are only 2 shower/toilet rooms.
Just a little food for thought!!

Heres another possibility.
Stanmore Hall, Bridgnorth. It's a Morris Leisure site, and it's open all year. Facilities are fantastic, some lovely eateries in Bridgnorth. If we went off season, being together should be no problem. Just an idea

There is a separate non ehu rally area at Riverside apart from the main site which has a large modern toilet block and full facilities. Organised ralliers can use the toilet block but pay extra
Personally speaking, if we went to Riverside it would be the main campsite for us rather than the rally field, but it could prove expensive for dog lovers.
As King Gafferbill mention however, it's early days yet so it's best to see what everyone else thinks, and the final decision is for the King to make

Good evening your most venerable New Royal Woosieness and fellow and Lady Woosies.
As your Trusty Scribe and Chief Negotiator I want to reflect on the following points before I reach any decision on the suggestions to date.

1.The Woosies are all for fun and friendship but at our ages enjoy our creature comforts. Rally fields for a week  Not for me sorry.
2. Where ever we go we need a Woosie bar where we can eat drink and party together.
3.whilst price is not overly important I do resent those hidden extras for dogs awnings etc.
4. I am mindful that four of our Woosies have travelled many miles to the Fests at great expense both financially and personal holidays.
So far we have been fairly balanced but to date Sir Gagakev has probably travelled the most and he and Lady Mags still work :cheer:
5. Looking back at the last 7 Fests we have been lucky you may say that most have provided the facilities we all.enjoy. Wheatalot, Rivenlot Postalot and Pickalot have all met our standards.
6. Rather than looking at travel times mileages etc may I suggest we focus on our joint requirements and then see what crops up.
7. Riverside certainly ticks my boxes, not the rally field, I can negotiate an exclusion to the dogs and awning charges. Well I think I can if I haven't lost my
touch :p
8. I and Lady Villa are up for the spring. No thanks to Sir WCs Tamworth Services :p , Stratford looks good. Devon or Dorset  Might help Kev.
As we have just experienced the weather is better early September than late.
Any more thoughts :)

Like Dusty, my/our 12 volt days are over, been there done that (not prepared to rough it any more!), prepared to go any where but must confess if a walkable distance PH is available, that'll look after us all the better.and a great advantage.

..........I don't know where the rally field suggestion came from but it certainly was not from me.

I mentioned two sites both of which have top class facilities as regards caravanning.
Riverside at Stratford on Avon also has an on site bar restaurant and Bridge Villa at Wallingford is 200 meters from a Thames riverside pub / restaurant and not much further to other town centre pubs.

Personally speaking I would be up for a Woosiefest in Gagaland (West Country) but that would be too far for some me thinks.

Riverside and Wallingford fine with us. Most dates are okay at the moment.
Gagaland will have to wait I guess.Anyway he is the youngest and needs to give his car a good run once a year :p
See PCv October edition page 54.
Riverside gets a very good plug :cheer:

I think that I may have muddied the waters by explaining to Crazyguider the differences between rallying and staying on the main site at Riverside in Stratford after I read her comment. :)

We dont really mind travelling outside Gagaland, after all we live here!! Perhaps though not as far as the last one.

On the spring one, blimin good idea, but we always have the grandson over the Easter Hols which is his first trip of the year away, so as we do the Bank hols (Because we WORK) it would take a bit off arranging to meet on the spring date in mind, but i wont give up just yet, see what dates you decide.

I'm with you on that one. If we can't make it because of family commitments, that's just the way it is!!

Orders being taken. -- If you are a lazy 'Woosie' then a certain ex Woosie King has just the thing for you! (Only don't order too soon as i expect the Mk2 and even a Mk3 may well have enhancements, (knowing the inventorist) - like remote control (a la motor movers) even a ride on platform, sat nav so you can send it on it's own! Dash cam so you can see what it's doing, even a dog walking attachment! all possibilities with this Sproket Rocket Woosie pot emptying device.
(Sorry but can't get the video to upload so you'll have to make do with a picture for now.)

Great fun here, the log burner that they left is a cheap Chinese item of dubious use. The mantlepiece is wooden thus restricting height of a burner. The easy going out through the wall where the current vent is, turns out to be the most expensive option. Off to discuss with a so called local expert later this morning.

Front door doesn't shut properly, another example of cheap junk. New door being fitted about the 21st.

Gas hob not working properly so electric one being fitted week after next which is the conclusion to electrical work completion.

Couple more bits of plumbing to be sorted.

On a positive note at Moneypit Hall, the paddock is now well and truly under control from a grass point of view and I'm thoroughly enjoying not letting Jenny play with my hand controlled ride on mower. :p

I think that's it on the move updates except to say the van tucks away nicely behind locked gates and it's good to have her at home.

We would be up for visiting Gagaland we would just make it into a holiday as we both also still have to go to work  :(

Spring meet would be possible depending on date's.
