I spoke a day called Alison who didn’t seem to know much about anything. I hung on for ages, eventually she said they knew about the Woosies and allocated me a fully serviced pitch.
The receipt misspelt my home town. Had to request a revised one. All fine now.

I asked for pitch 7 or 8 to be near some of the other Woosies on the full serviced pitches.
I received a confirmation by email.....(no guarantees were given regarding the requested pitch)
Since I am interested in that sort of thing I was interested to learn Woodthorpe is in the corner of an old airfield.........RAF Strubby

I share your interest Bill. The caravan park was once occupied by the airfield technical site, and the old airfield is still used by a gliding club.Gafferbill said:

I might just go down earlier or extend my stay, never been in that part of the world or had any connection to wartime aircraft, but sounds very interesting, I am more and more looking forward to the outing.
Any other tips for the area would be so nice to hear about.

Been in touch with Woosiethorpe Hall this am. Obviously the 'ladie'(s) you spoke to were not the one we spoke to. Hopefully that has now been clarified, and they are booking us together.

Sir Haggis........the caravan on the right of the picture below is owned by Lightpole man.
Since the height of the mast mounted on the A frame is a danger to aircraft it has to be lit up during the hours of darkness......hence the Woosie name :lol:
