For years now on our caravans we have always use our Crusader corner leg steady winder but my wife was involved in RTA a number of years ago. she had an operation to separate her shoulder ball and socket joint- now needing more mechanical help with the steadies legs so a cordless will make life easier

Go for the highest voltage you can get

My Bosch 18volt 1.5 amphr battery had more than enough torque to do the steadies and the torque setting was down low.

I bought a Copy of a Makita wrench (with the 1/2 inch drive) off eBay for £31 delivered.
Previously I had bought a Copy Makita Battery for £20 and it worked fine in my Makita Drills, so when I put the copy battery in the copy Wrench, they worked Fine.

We set it between highest and lowest found there was plenty of torque

Fully agree. Low speed on a torque setting which is ‘just enough’. And be ready for it to come to a sudden stop.

If you watch some fellow caravanners using cordless drills to wind the steadies you could be forgiven for thinking that the drills have no speed control. 😱
