I hate to say it but it does look like a case of sloppy workmanship. I hope the rest of the repair is up to standardš¤š¤
Our regular AWS technician immediately spotted that the awning rail had been redone although we did not mention it to him.

OMG! Have you broken a mirrorš
I won Ā£7.30 on the Euro lottery and Ā£10 on the post code lottery, both two weeks ago. Waiting for tonight win. š¤šWill still continue to buy my own lottery tickets.
Stay away in your caravan, avoid shops , people and Forums. Youāll then be okš¤ŖAbout that mirror. You may be right. Yesterday we popped into Sainsbury to get a bottle of fairy washing up liquid. We bought a 900ml bottle that was marked at Ā£2.00 on the shelf.
On scanning it through the till, it reflected that the bottle cost Ā£10.75. Called over the lady and she said it was because we had taken it out of a 6 pack? I told her that it was a stand alone bottle.
She then disappeared and came back with two smaller bottles and told us that they were the equivalent of the 900ml bottle. We accepted this and scanned them and they were Ā£1 each however the weight was 340ml.
Called her over again and explained that 2 x 340 does not add up to 900. Anyway left without buying the dishwashing fluid.
We are now too scared to go for lunch in case they charge us Ā£100 for a sandwich and my card does not work! LOL!
You already know the answer, as you are the oracle about the CRA.I eventually got a reply from the dealer regarding widening the gap for the beading of the awning to fit into and want Ā£30 for widening it?
In my opinion the awning rail that they fitted is not fit for purpose so why should we pay for the gap to widened to the correct size? They are the ones that fitted the awning rail.
We cannot fit the front towing cover which cost us north of Ā£300 for the Specialised Elite.

A pair of pliers and the job is done, if you can't do the job pay up the Ā£30 or have a heart attack with everything you have going on. Life is too short.
Also won on Euro lottery on Tuesday & Friday this week greatI won Ā£7.30 on the Euro lottery and Ā£10 on the post code lottery, both two weeks ago. Waiting for tonight win. š¤š
Sorry Buckman , as you have said many times , folk do not understand your sense of Humour, This could be the same in reverse.I can barely hold pliers never mind squeezing them hard enough to do the rail. The main reason I want the dealer to do it is that they fitted the rail and there is a danger of the paint cracking as happened on a previous caravan.
Please do not be so flippant about having a heart attack!
Snap!Sorry Buckman , as you have said many times , folk do not understand your sense of Humour, This could be the same in reverse.
Complaints about goods or services should be handled initially through the suppliers complaints procedures. Not sure why you replied with your remark as it is not very helpful? However the repair was done under warranty and I never paid for it?
You have three options. Pay Ā£30, try doing it yourself, or CRA. I think for me the choice wouldnāt be difficult.I eventually got a reply from the dealer regarding widening the gap for the beading of the awning to fit into and want Ā£30 for widening it?

Why are you offering very unhelpful posts as you are not contributing anything except to have a go at me once again!?Complaints about goods or services should be handled initially through the suppliers complaints procedures.
If you are not satisfied with their response or remedial works, you have the option to begin an action through the CRA procedures. You have claimed to have a better understanding than others about the CRA so it seems unlikely anyone else can offer any useful advice on this simple problem.
What more do you need to know?
I would normally have asked the AWS technician at our storage to do the job however the concern here is the paint cracking on the awning rail as happened on a previous caravan. The gap was widened by the dealer and they still cracked the paint! You have three options. Pay Ā£30, try doing it yourself, or CRA. I think for me the choice wouldnāt be difficult.
I was going to suggest you call the Dealer to you. A lot easier and itās their fault they didnāt finish the job. It shouldnāt cost you more money! Maybe sad to say perhaps you are no longer on this Dealers Christmas Card ListšI would normally have asked the AWS technician at our storage to do the job however the concern here is the paint cracking on the awning rail as happened on a previous caravan. A thought has occurred to me that whether we have a repair or replacement of the front panel done, the awning rail would need to be replaced again.
There seems to be some light at end of the tunnel although OH is still a bit poorly and having good and bad days. Thanks for asking. šI was going to suggest you call the Dealer to you. To be fair heās had more than his full share of bad luck recently. We all get the Black Dog now and then. If letting off on a forum helps why not? You donāt have to read posts you donāt likešI'm beginning to become depressed reading about the continuous issues and problems that beset you Buckman.
Thankfully I must be one of the lucky ones who can't think of anything dismal to share on a caravan forum on a daily basis.
Let's hope things improve for you very soon eh!

On my last caravan I had the awning offside rail replaced when the end panel was fitted. The dealer omitted to open up for the two entry slots. As I didnāt need to use the offside rail I waited until it was back at the dealer for its axle to be replaced a couple of months later. They sorted the rail out but over the remaining two years of ownership I wasnāt aware of any deterioration in the paint in the area they worked on.I would normally have asked the AWS technician at our storage to do the job however the concern here is the paint cracking on the awning rail as happened on a previous caravan.
