    terrible drivers

Speed limiters are set to a stabilised speed of 90 kph(56 mph). Many of the more basic mechanical type will exceed 90kph and eventually stabilise back to that speed. The majority pick up their speed signal from a tachograph output signal but as the "in use" tolerance of the tachograph is +/- 6...

    reversing bleepers

You can wire the bleeper earth via an in-line diode to the tail lamp circuit. When the lights are swithced on the bleeper earth is lost and the bleeper doesn't work. That way it is fully automatic for night time operation.

    vets in france

John, for the last four years I have just turned up at a vets at about 09.30 on a friday morning and have never had to wait more than 30 minutes before my dog has been treated. There is always another vet not too far away if the first one can't fit your dog in.

But they should be fitted with a speed limiter set to a stabilised speed of 90kph (56 mph )

    terrible drivers

I agree that the general standing of driving has fallen dramatically over the past few years. Unfortunately this also seems to include police officers. I'm talking about the day to day driving of normal patrol cars. Parking on yellow lines when popping in to do a bit of shopping, failing to...

    Bailey Unicorn

At the risk of me getting boring by repeating previous posts I'll lay good money that the designers haven't spent any time actually living in a prototype van. Until you do things like take a shower it is difficult to know the where the best position for soap dishes and towel hooks are. Likewise...

    Speed Limit Stickers

I fitted stickers for a recent trip to France. The only other ones I saw were on UK vans at the channel tunnel terminal! Three out of five had them. Still, it gave peace of mind, I don't want to upset the French plod if I can help it.

    And about time!!

Since 2001 there has been a rolling programme of speed limiter fitment for PSV's (coaches). Currently PCV's with more than 8 passenger seats require a speed limiter fitted with a stabilised speed set at 100kph or less (roughly 62 mph). This is an MOT testable item.

    Rouen

Don't worry too much about Rouen, it's not a big problem. Via Michelin took me straight through it a couple of weeks ago and my Garmin mirrored the route. It's actually very well signed.
