Replacing a window stay pinch Lock

The pinch lock on the window stay of the centre front window on our 2011 Lunar Clubman will no longer tighten and probably needs replacing. Unfortunately I can see no way of removing the window stay from the window (the opposite end unscrews from the window frame). Does anyone know of a way to...

    Winter wheels or axle stands?

I may be wrong about this but when I enquired about the very same issue with the CC, I was told that if I used winter wheels I would be unable to fit the Alko wheel lock - as required by CC insurance conditions. Additionally, if (for instance) a fire broke out nearby, then the caravan cannot be...

    Tyrepal

Thank you for the feedback everyone, it's very helpful. I did think about fitting Tyron Bands but I'm not convinced by their claims, especially when fitted to alloy wheels rather than steel rims. It was your post I remember reading, Sproket (not Steve in Leo's) and all your points made good...

    Tyrepal

I am thinking about fitting a Tyrepal tyre pressure monitoring system to my caravan as an additional safety feature. Has anyone else fitted one of these systems and, if so did they think it worth doing? I seem to remember someone, possibly Steve in Leo (apologies if I'm wrong, Steve) doing a...

Capital Punishment, would you re-introduce it now?

Good post, Parksy. I would ensure firstly that prisoners serve their full terms - if they get life (ie 25 years) then they serve 25 years. No being let out early for good behaviour. If they don't behave then time should be added on to their sentence. I would introduce a the death penalty...

    Touring Caravan Configuration

Hi Vic, Lunar do a model with fixed bed and full width bathroom called the Lexon 540. MTPLM is only 1460kg. It's about 24 feet long. The problem with these 'vans is there is a trade-off as the front seats are usually shorter. I find that you can never get exactly what you are looking for...

    Ain't life grand

Got to admit our Aussie colleague does have a point, tho! I was quite impressed with the way the Aussies shipped out that career criminal back to us this week....isn't it time we started to apply the same rules? (Ducks back behind parapet!)

    Replacement key required

Hi Ian, A few years ago I had the same problem.I 'phoned a (decent) local locksmith who told me to bring the wheel clamp in to his shop and left it with him. He made a new key (apparently this can be done from the lock itself with tubular key locks). It didn't cost lot as I remember.. Ron.

Best 'spray' for caravan towing electrics?

Couldn't agree more with you Damian, it's awful stuff for towing sockets........not bad for getting sticker residue off windows though! Ron.

It's the way I tell 'em! (Hee Hee)

Sometimes it DOES take a Rocket Scientist!! (true story) Scientists at Rolls Royce built a gun specifically to launch dead chickens at the windshields of airliners and military jets all traveling at maximum velocity. The idea is to simulate the frequent incidents of collisions with airborne...

Best 'spray' for caravan towing electrics?

Hi Chris, As I recall some years ago John Wickersham recommended Tri-Flow in one of his caravan books. I've used it ever since on my towing electical sockets. It's good stuff!. Regards, Ron.
