Who in their right mind would want to steal a V dub? LOL! 🤣 Lexus bought probably due to reliability and 10 year warranty if you can keep it that long. In addition to the stop lock, our NX300 has a tracker and also a CAN Bus blocker. If the article is true why on earth would anyone buy a Lexus? 5 models in the top 10 would scare me.🤪
Fortunately my beast of the VW didn’t get a mention🙀 Lucky me😎
Only joking🤪. Shame these chavs have no taste😂Who in their right mind would want to steal a V dub? LOL! 🤣 Lexus bought probably due to reliability and 10 year warranty if you can keep it that long. In addition to the stop lock, our NX300 has a tracker and also a CAN Bus blocker.
Plenty of BMWs on that list though. With regard to Audi, who would want to steal a car that has working direction indicators. 🤷
I thought the Canbus blocker was only needed for older Lexus's - with the design fault having been fixed for recent productionWho in their right mind would want to steal a V dub? Slang for Volkswagen / VWWhat on earth is a V dub?
It was definitely needed for the pre-2021 models. Cars after 2021 initially did not require the blocker, but thieves have found another way around the issue. However it is more difficult and theft rate for NX350 is well down on the previous model.I thought the Canbus blocker was only needed for older Lexus's - with the design fault having been fixed for recent production
Apparently the Ghost immobiliser is extremely difficult to over come due to code being a sequence set up by the driver. This could be pressing the radio button, followed by a air con button, then heated seat button and perhaps some other button. I think at that point the only option left for them is to uplift the car?If the thieves are as up to date as some of the "professional" teams seem to be, I suspect they have worked out how to defeat most of the OEM vehicle immobilisers and alarms.
As others have said if they want it they will probably have done their research and know how do get it. The best we can do is to make our own vehicle so obviously protected with visible deterrents so they prefer to find a less well protected vehicle, and leave yours.
That’s even more buttons to press before setting off on the journey. Certainly wouldn’t make my car any good as a fast getaway car? 😂Apparently the Ghost immobiliser is extremely difficult to over come due to code being a sequence set up by the driver. So doesn't work well on modern cars with just a touchscreen for all controls.Apparently the Ghost immobiliser is extremely difficult to over come due to code being a sequence set up by the driver. Most modern cars would probably still have some discrete controls on the steering wheel assemblySo doesn't work well on modern cars with just a touchscreen for all controls.
Even thieves are very conscious of the time element as by that time you could have contacted the police or woken up a neighbour. One of the best is the immobiliser that allows them to steal the car, but a mile or so later the car runs out of fuel due to a hidden switch. It has proven to work quite well.If the thieves have broken into your house to steal your keys, they may well come back to ask for the key sequence to start the car... At the point of them having broken in - they can have it.
