An interesting article in yesterday’s Daily Telegraph quotes Prof Neil Ferguson of Imperial College London. He believes before the Wuhan outbreak there were many people in this country who suffered Covid -19 without realising what it was. Maybe we did have it Clive?

Maybe, but I’m not about to start socialising just to see if there’s any immunity. Also I would have one heck of a job trying to explain the theory to the arresting officers. 😀 Anyway since we’ve been social distancing through the rubbish wet winter being able to social distance now at least cuts right back on child care and ups our productivity on domestic jobs. BBQ tonight which cannot be bad.

As I pointed out before, In the light of how virulent the present outbreak is demonstrating, it seems highly unlikely the same virus was around several months ago without demonstrating the infection rates.

However the way viruses mutate, which is almost certainly what happened in Wuhan, it is conceivable a previous version of the virus may have been around and may have been able to infect humans, but was not as severe. Because it may have shared some of the same DNA/RNA people who might have been infected might have developed antibodies that recognise Covid-19 and can hold it at bay.

But I don't believe you would have had true Covid-19.

May I just say Prof it’s not me who said this but one of the Government ‘s lead advisor boffins Prof Neil Ferguson.
I am very disappointed parts of our population London in particular have ignored lockdown which is now going to result in even more lockdown isolation, God help us if we end up with Marshall law
 
Went into my garage yesterday to have a clear up, thought this is ridicules, I have only got narrow gap in centre , all the rest is fishing, caravan awning etc, garden tools. Came out and painted the whole garage three sides with masonry paint. Now my wife spoke about net curtains on the windows?.
 
Robert, maybe inside the garage "cave" you could find some of that spray on" Christmas snow" to make it look like net curtains.
 
In the process of replacing all 12 shed windows with polycarbonate sheets. Home delivery by DPD. The original plastic was broken and opaque. What a difference being able to look out and light coming in.👍👍
 
After watching the news tonight and showing the NHS staff in the ICU at Bournemouth hospital and people being treated, I think I will take it seriously. like Mr O Riley said in Fawlty Towers "I think I will",

I have had pneumonia twice and bad influenza once. The thought of something that combines the worst of both should make people take it seriously. Fortunately my first bout of pneumonia was bacterial not viral and I can still remember as a 8 year old Dr John Chappell with his nicotine stained moustache administering a dose of life saving penicillin into my nether region. The family were all around the bed fearing the worst. Never again if I can avoid it.

I really don't know if you are being serious or trying to be funny.

To some of us the jokes are easily recognisable, obvious even.
If you haven't seen a particular tv series or don't get a particular joke when it appears on a forum such as this, the issues surrounding Covid 19 can seem threatening and a joke can be taken literally.
The best thing for all of us is to remain calm, do as we're asked by health officials and not to become involved in needless squabbling among ourselves.
My point is not aimed at anyone in particular, the quote that I used is merely to provide context to what can be a tricky situation.
To echo Dustydog, stay safe and keep everyone else safe. 😉

OC, been there myself when I was a little snot with pneumonia, it did not stop me from being a good sportsman most of my life,
