Cost of fuel

Not sure about places outside Worcestershire, but cost of fuel here as risen to the highest level in several years. Diesel is now £1.52 a litre and unleaded just a bit less. Certainly have to think before using either vehicle and do more Online shopping!

Yep our EV makes even more sense every day-it's now doing the equivalent-based on our unit rate of 190mpg! Happy days. Bit ofa shock filling the dino juice truck up to come away on holiday!

Filled up the Tiguan it took 25 litres of diesel and at £1.49

We have the CAMC fuel card so get 4p off every litre, however at £1.48 a litre still very expensive!

I did see on offer on their website offering 8p. a litre off at Shell motorway service stations.

We have had it for about 2 or more years. If we buy Premium we get 6p off a litre of fuel. It can only be used at Esso fuel stations. Called a Fuelpecker card.

£1.44.9 for Esso E10 petrol local to us in Wiltshire. Two big supermarkets drive competition. Drive to wales today at a steady 70 mph to keep consumption okay at 40.3 mpg.

I don't like using supermarket fuel but even after the discount fo 4p Morrisons is still 2p cheaper than the Esso station making it in total of 6p cheaper..

I don’t use supermarket fuel but with their prices in our locale they help keep the independents focussed.

Riding out on my bike today around the Beds Herts and Bucks area, diesel prices varied from, £1.43.9 upto £1.49.9 . But that was not supermarket fuels.
It will go higher, before it comes down again.

The only people who buy fuel on motorways at posted prices are those about to run out of fuel, ie distress purchases - the rest of drivers who buy on the motorway pay a much lower price by using a fuel card.

I have in 35 years of driving only ever bought supermarket fuel. Never any issues. I kept my MR2 for 16 years and drove 160000 miles and the engine was still running perfectly. Body was disappearing!!!!

The only time I bought fuel from a motorway services was when I had a temporary job delviering Vauxhalls around the country way bacin the early nineties. I have never topped up any of our own vehicles at motorway services as refuse to pay their silly prices.

Our cheapest local fuel was a big name garage which was always busy, but they seem to have changed policy over the last couple of years and are now amongst the dearest and guess what - we now fill up elsewhere!

I have tried a couple of apps for fuel costs, but non of the ones I tried are 100% accurate, often not listing all stations, or the prices are not fully up to date.

However I do use one app "Fuelio" It does more than just list fuel prices, it helps to keep vehicle costs in one place, and it reports of the economy of your vehicles, by tracking mileage and fuel used.

When the price of Crude reached the magic $100/Barrel a few years ago, we were all complaining about our Diesel hitting the £1/Litre. Today's price for Crude is average about $82/Barrel. When it goes up we are told that is the reason for our diesel to go up. When is goes down, we see our diesel hit the £1.50/Litre. I know, it's all about the market.
