A simple test to see if the light is switching off as it should is to set your phone to video while recording put said phone in the fridge and close the door, review video, if light goes off then no adjustment is needed.

But it might go on again when you take your phone out. The observer can affect the results.

Then again it could be both On and Off due to quantum affects i.e Schrodinger's Cat being both dead or alive in the box.

Of course Heisenberg's Uncertainty Princple may apply but I'm not sure about that.

The light will come on again when you open the door, that’s what it is supposed to do 🤔🥴

Also if it’s a good enough test for a Dometic approved engineer it’s good enough for me 😜

I like the idea of Schrodinger's fridge - is there one last beer inside or not?

Pavlov’s dog could be salivating in said fridge. But Maslow will sort everything out in an hierarchal manner leading to self-actualization.

And is it half full or half empty.
Given that it's in Shrödinger's fridge I'd blame the cat and leave it well alone🤢...

...just spent a minute to find how to access special symbols etc on this Mac - umlaut now present and correct!

The Dometic RM8400 fridge in my Elddis Crusader Shamal has suddenly started to sound the "door open" alarm. It sounds every 2.5 minutes, both on gas and mains electric. The door is shut correctly. The 12v fuse is intact and clean. The warning light does not show when the beeping is on.
The noise is very annoying! Any ideas?
Thanks
Alan
Had a similar problem and found it was condensation build up where the door switch is. I pulled out my better half's hair dryer on a medium setting and pointed into the switch area under the clear cover and dried it out. Problem solved.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

That sounds like a plausible solution.

But you will note the thread was last used in june - three months ago. can I point you to the advice for new members and the points about resurrecting older threads

There is also another not so well know cause of the beeping. The internal lock on the sidewall of the fridge moves back a fraction and there is not a proper contact. The beeping stops if you push the fridge door hard. Remove the cover on the internal lock, loosen the two screws, move the lock as much forward as possible and tighten the screws again. The movement is almost minute, but seems to work.

I was looking for info on the beeping issue and came across the post, it was helpful in directing me where to look. Just thought I'd add my 2cents worth to help someone else out.
