Camping Municipal de Perharidy
Route Santec, Roscoff, Brittany
3km from Channel port
This is like the municipal for Roscoff. We used it in 1999 and have visted last year as it sits adjacent a white sandy beach when we were early for the ferry back. So long as they know you are coming they will stay open to let you in.
Our report at the time...
Nestling behind the sand dunes of a sheltered bay pitches have a sandy base. No pitches appeared cramped, in the first area with four to six per hedged bay, with more open-field pitching beyond nearer the dunes. Some caravans are clearly based here, and there are a few hexagonal chalets in one area. Being unaccustomed to ablutions French style, the external urinals and washing sinks amused, although the toilet doors, brightly painted like a row of beach huts, provided English style toilets, and a newer unisex shower block provided a good free hot shower. Electric hook-ups were UK style with correct polarity. The kiosk opened at 8.00, serving fresh bread, croissants and sundries, and the reception selling ices and postcards some time later. Direct access to the beach enabled a stroll along the clean white sand before departure. An adjacent English couple was using the site for a few nights before returning home, and we could imagine the site serves well for this, as well as for exploring this northern corner of Brittany.
Revisiting the adjacent beach while in the area in 2003 we found the site well sign-posted from Roscoff town, so if heading from the port take the route towards the town and then follow the signs for the site or towards Santec.
