I have a 2020 Elddis Affinity 520 which has developed a leak from the large skylight which runs most of the length of the lounge. We are expecting the dealer to sort it out but this is the third leak in five years. I would like to remove the large plastic surround to take a closer look to identify where the ingress is taking place but can’t see any obvious fixing points. Does anyone know how to remove the surround?

In all honesty I don’t know, but it could be it come off in a similar manner as most windows, as in undo window struts, open window up as far as it goes and the two hooks (window bar and hinge bar) come undone.

Our 2017 Buccaneer leaked from the large skylight last year and it was replaced under warranty. If your van has full service history then the dealer should be able to submit a warranty claim. Good luck.:)

If you are still under warranty just proceed with caution with any DIY investing. You may well be totally competent for the job; but any excuse to declare a warranty invalid because of “user involvement” can be conjured.

Very sage advice!

Its a sklight not a window, totally different things

I realise it’s a skylight, they are not your standard 450x450 (that are normally fitted) but a long thin skylight, hence my post where they could come out in the same manner 🤔

Edit….
If you read what I said above I clearly said in a similar manner to most windows, so I obviously knew it wasn’t a window 🤔
