On the thread about Black ice, I mentioned about why we have lost a new to the forum member, a couple of new people requested information about
1 a Sharp TV, and lots of us diverted away.
We all know that Fred Drift comes in but we do tend to start nit picking each other.

I myself was guilty of this against The Prof, when I first joined the forum , especially about nose weights and heights of tow balls, and will apologise to The Prof, if I offended him.

Let's not let the forum go down hill,,by back biting each other,
Let us help newcomers to caravanning, who ask questions without Fred Drifting too much.

And I prefer Gurnet to Rock Salmon.

I have no objection to Fred Drift or being corrected, but I get annoyed at unnecessary nit picking and unfortunately I retaliate and when I do it is not always in the nicest manner as I feel it is a personal attack and the person is trying to humiliate me. Different cultures?

Trust me, having participated on other caravan forums, this one is the tamest by far!

Belonging to forums/Facebook groups for various interests of mine, I do find anything relating to caravans does seem to attract the "I have to shout loudest" and "you do it different therefore you are wrong" attitudes by some.

The Toyota car forum to which I belong (not FB) you can discuss anything including politics and there is still harmony. Similar with the FB groups to which I belong, but unwritten rule is that no political comments to be posted.
