Recommeded Site for Easter please - Clacton-on-Sea area

We're going to Clacton-On-Sea the week before Easter right through until after the Easter weekend and wondered if any of you could recommend a nice site please? We're visiting relatives in Clacton which is the main reason for our visit.

We're a family of 2 Adults and 3 kids (Ages 13 down to 5) with a caravan and awning. We must have decent shower/toilet facilities (heating is essential as it will no doubt still be a bit chilly in April - learned our lesson last Easter in Northumberland when it snowed!) and electric hook-up. We don't mind having to drive up to an hour to Clacton as we'll probably only vist a couple of times. As it will probably rain, we'd prefer hardstanding but this isn't a must. We're members of both clubs so could use any their sites.

We've seen that there a few Park Resort sites in the area but wondered if the pitches might be a bit cramped and the facilities a bit basic, a-la-Haven? Any comments gratefully received.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Caire & Rob.

Have a look at this one, http://www.homesteadlake.co.uk/

We've stayed there a couple of times, nice and clean, hot showers, electric hook up, hook up for water and waste. It's about 15 mins. away from Clacton also.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Phil.

Thanks Phil - Homestead looks perfect for our requirements. Our relatives are going to have a look at it this week then we'll get it booked. The on-site accessory shop and caravan dealership looks most inviting - will be a great way to spend an afternoon!

Cheers!

Booked up at Homestead for 9 nights Easter - thanks for replies. We'll post our opinions when we get back. Claire is already getting a list of purchases together for the accessory shop - this site might not have been such a good idea after all!

Cheers

Claire & Rob

Good luck Claire & Rob, hope you enjoy it! I know what you mean about the shop, you could easily get carried away in there and it's a big shop!

Enjoy!

Phil.
