Ah, its currently being investigated as to the cause. They have said they will put matters right if its their fault. I have used the CAMC legal advice line, and the upshot is that if they deny its the panoramic roof, I have a fight. Now, despite the roof having been cracked inside and out, with the help of gaffer tape it has stayed dry all winter. The legal advice was that in the event of a fight, I would have to prove the van was dry until their work was done. She says myy evidence is more than acceptable.
1) The van is under warranty, I would have no need to sneak one in under the radar, just book it in at same time
2) It was serviced two weeks ago by an NCC workshop who will testify that the caravan was fine. In truth, I dont think there will be any doubt as to the cause, but forewarned is forearmed.
What I did learn from them is that they water tested the seal within 24 hours, I am told by other engineers including the NCC workshop i use that at least 5 days should be left the the sealant to cure. Id like Damians opinion on that one. I asked them also if they had used a pressure wash to water test it. Get this, they said no, a hosepipe, but then the van went to be washed and they use a pressure wash. A PRESSURE WASH on a caravan for gods sake, new sealant or not, its too fierce. If it turns out the roof isnt leaking, then I can only assume that some idiot with a pressure wash has blasted the front window seals and the water has sprayed in. Either way, its wasnt like that when they got it, and its a right mess now. We also took a whole raft of pics inside and out when we dropped it off to them.
Solicitor I spoke to via CAMC is adamant they have, under CRA 2015 been negligent, and that they have failed in their duty of care, and that supplementary damage has been caused by their negligence. I wish I could name and shame these people. I will of course be naming and shaming everywhere else.
The pic below is through the side window, this is before we unlocked the caravan.
Not as easy to see, but the water on the table had all run down the back. It doesnt show the probelm, but everything above, below and to either side is utterly drenched.
