In the early eighties my ex-wife's mother baked a Christmas cake. No idea what she put into it, but you could not cut it it was that hard. You had to sue a hammer to break chips off it. As far as I am aware she never baked another cake!
Back in the 70s it was usual to stuff the entire body cavity of the Turkey; not just the neck ( at least it was in S Wales đ´ó §ó ˘ó ˇó Źó łó ż). My grandmother used to do this, then half cook the Turkey on Christmas Eve and then cook it off again on Christmas Day. Itâs a wonder she didnât kill the lot of us with food poisoning. đ
