I'm hoping the Woosies can choose a site a bit closer to the land of eternal rain, wind and midges one day.

I would love to see more of Southern England, but travel time constraints with the caravan make it difficult, I now balk at driving abroad, 2 days to get to a channel crossing (and of course 2 days back) takes a fair chunk out of any allotted time I have, maybe I should seek out a new burrow further south

About time Scotland had a European ferry service again, or a train that would accommodate cars and caravans etc. but my breath is not being held for either.

If you can arrange a bit further north King Woosie, it would be great to meet up.

You lucky Haggis. You live in the land of my ancestors. I was married there too :cheer:
Where were you thinking?
Must be May or September to avoid those little buzzers :p

Hi Sir Dustydog,

I accept that one has to go with the majority on booking arrangements, I did not have any particular location in mind, but if a proposed location was within say 150 miles then it might be do-ablepracticable, I would like to meet up with some of you one day :) .

Who knows what the future might bring.

Problem is Sir Haggis yourself and Kev are at the 'Woosies' extremities and there is something like 450 miles between you, even you are 260 miles N. of us in N. Lincs. difficult to get every one 'in', Kev is 300 miles from us. difficult but I am looking.

Anseo, To get to The Woosie fest at Pickering, I had to beat Kevs long haul, so decided to do a six week tour of France and then from Carcisson to Pickering 1130 miles , took me 10 days with a 5 day stop near Dunkirk to get the dogs sorted with a vet 2 days at home for a wash and brush up , then a lovely week at the Black Bull. Anythings possible to A Woosie. :p
But it was still deemed that Kev travelled, the furthest. B)

The Rain master always wins :p
Thing is Hutch we are retired and can travel. Whilst not as far as you I took two days from Achiltibuie by the Summer Isles via Newtonmore and Melrose to reach the Black Bull.
When we do Scotland a few nights at Strathclyde Country Park is good. Maybe see you on our next Scottish trip Anseo

Perhaps retired Woosies could do a Woosie tour northward? Leaving the Woosie fest in a mid range location?
Just a suggestion, most noble Highness.

Your Royal Highness, Fellow Woosies, and Woosiette's.
Stop fretting it is a long time away yet!!!!
We really dont mind the distance as long as it is do able with a stop over as we have in the past two years worked around it for our main holiday (we work you see  )
We will draw the line at Scotland though, sorry Sir Haggis would neeeed a month up there when it happens :)

Sir Outnumbered think Lady Mel was actually saying have two, one up North for the non workers and the main one for the workers later in the year

My 'chicken sitting' stint this next fortnight at Porthcawl has unfortunately been cancelled, so next week we are heading for Norfolk to look at one or two sites for the fest, Will be the Autumn fest if we find a good 'un there -- , so could also look N. of us for a 'geriatrics' venue for springfest. - Will put the sites websites up once I know they would accept the 'Woosie reprobates'

The King has done it :cheer:
This site fits the bill perfectly. Pitches look good and level .
I wonder if they will allow us to use their bar for the Fest on one of their closed nights?
Put us down for it. :cheer:
Maybe early September rather than later?
UK campsites gives this a average of 9 out of 10. Excellent.

King Gab,

I understand the logistical problems of rallying your subjects in one location, your efforts are appreciated.

If I can make a trip to the land of the Engs, I shall make application to you for a visa (or perhaps you can issue the "Kings Freedom to Travel Pass") to avoid problems with the guards at The Wall (Hadrians not Donald's :silly: )

Sir Dustydog,

Yes, be great to meet up with you on one of your Scottish trips (or anywhere for that matter).

Lady Mel

Thanks for suggesting a possible second outing further North, it increases the possibilities for me.

Sir Gagakev

Like you, I also work, and for the longer treks I would need to factor in an extra 2 days for traveling.

Combining a meet with a planned vacation is a good idea, I can arrange suitable time outside main vacation periods but this will depend on proposed venue dates and the hope that other planned or unplanned commitments do not conflict.

But all in all, I look forward to the proposed dates and venues from His Woosieness, there is so much of England that I have not seen.

King Gab's possible location in Norfolk is thought provoking, I could perhaps rent a floating caravan on the Broads and tie that in with a Woosiefest; hmnn........a pleasing thought.
